Just recently posted a new work to photography gallery and above is its link. Let me post here the main photo of this work after this...

This was one of the walls of a huge chimney, and it was shot at the semi-demolished roof of a deserted hotel (Boulevard Palace Hotel) in the heart of the city. It was Feb of 1996, and that hotel was my vast "studio of diverse degredation". Approx. 80% of my photography was shot during my regular and frequent visits to that hotel for 1.5 years. Then came the inevitable, and though the hotel was a very old (thus historicaly valuable) one, it was demolished completely instead of being restorated. A new one (a complex of hotel and business center with the same name) was started to be built on the same grounds, and the construction recently finished.

Dude: Here's your chance, no kidding.. Mount the best prints, make it a photo essay, and have it shown at the new buisness center. I'm tellin' ya, man. Ahh.. You probably already thought of it. This one looks great. And as I always say: it can only look better as a photographic print. Post more! Post more! Joe

Great stuff Doruk! I love your statement of the place being your "Vast Studio of Diverse Degradation" that's a phrase worthy of Frank Zappa! Hey, and Joe has a wonderful idea there...

I agree, Slynky. I finally have a roll of Tri-x loaded into the trusty Minolta now, and I'm excited about it. I've been looking at some of the works of Garry Winnogrand, and of Arthur Freed. Joe
