The other half was reading a country life orientated mag, and found an advert for chicken saddles. Now I suppose there is a perfectly good reason for this, I mean I immediately thought that the elves and faeries might want to ride chickens. But then where do I go to get a chicken to saddle up for them????

actually I know what thiose are for - and it's usually turkey saddles BTW. ummm ... without getting into graphic detail lets just say its a marital aid for the rooster :) I don't know how much yall know about chicken sex - but sometimes they have trouble uhhhh keeping connected snicker and the 'saddle' helps. Really! I grew up on an exotic poultry farm :) We had 'wild' turkeys, quail, partridge, guinea fowl, pheasent, ducks, swans, geese and peacocks. There's a reason I'm not a vegetarian - it's a grudge. No chickens, but how about ducks, hawks, seagulls, parrots, macaws, parakeets, toucans, and crows? Lyne's Creations has them all at Vista Internet Products.

Little_Dragon posted Sat, 16 February 2002 at 6:43 PM

Joust used ostriches. :)

I forgot to mention that Debra Ross also has an owl figure at Vista Internet.

And if you're into songbirds, Ken Gilliard has a free cardinal and jays posted at Emperor Ken's World.

I could picture faeries saddling up onto a cat or hawk when going into battle, like the characters in NeverNever.

Sex aids for poultry! LOL. Ah, I can just imagine that rooster crowing away -- he's king of the hill. And then, turns out that to get it on, he needs some extra... equipment. :D I don't think the concept is limited to chickens. I think there are some human males like that too. (and plenty of human hens)

I got a really nice rooster through content paradise years ago, it has 39 body parts, a bunch of morphs (expressions too, believe it or not), and many transmapped feathers. The mesh is 35,000 polys. It also comes with spec and bump maps, 5 poses, and a walk cycle. Truly is a thing of beauty, whoever made this figure meant business...$10.00!

Content Paradise has both a hen and a rooster. Although for some reason the rooster is over twice as much.

Chocobo racing from Final Fantasy?  I wonder what kind of greens they eat.

ladydrakana posted Wed, 21 January 2015 at 2:13 PM

Chicken Saddles are not a sex aid for chickens. Their used to protect hens from over zealous roosters. Who can pull out all her feathers. Causing sunburns and wounds. Which can affect the health of the hen. With a saddle on he can't rip out all her feathers. This problem is more common among the younger roosters that the older rooster.

I found this information online while looking up Duck Diapers.  Commonly used for the keeping of ducks as indoor pets. And no, I don't have any indoor farm animals as pets. I just thought it was funny when I heard about it.
