Has anyone else had a problem running Poser 4 on a Mac (system 9) and not having captions over some tools? I thought at first that I had accidentally disabled tool titles, but I haven't. Affected tools seem to be the parameter dials, the libraries pallete, the sketch designer, the animation controls. Possibly other stuff. Has anybody else noticed this problem? I didn't seem to have it under system 8.

Did you install the beta patch? Weird things can happen if there are two copies of the plugin's. Then again, this may not be the problem at all. -JH.

actually it wasn't... took me a while and I finally figured it out. Among other upgrades, I recently got, I got a new graphics card. The control panel for this card among other things, lets me set a font cache. This is actually really nice as it cuts down nquite a bit on memory usage (since I have like a gazillion fonts installed) however, poser doesn't seem to understand how to tell the driver to request new fonts that aren't in its cache. Hiding Poser and then revealing it makes the operating system request the proper fonts, but as soon as anything covers them up (or you open a new palette that wasn't there when you initially hid and unhid poser) the fonts are missing again. The simple solution is to turn off font caching while you are using Poser. This ends up using more memory, but I have plenty anyway. -Mav
