Well, I notified E-on about their file dialogs. Here is what I wrote:
Dear Sirs:
About Vue 4.05-2, I'm experiencing some problems with the new file dialog interface. I think I found many of these errors because in general, I like to use the keyboard as a control device in file dialogs.
a) When double-clicking on a short-cut (I think that's a .lnk file type), I get 'unable to read file'. Where as it should take me to to the short-cut's target file location.
b) In the file list where the file names are listed, alphanumerical keypresses don't move the file selection. For example, pressing 'b' should move me to the first file with 'b' as its first letter in its file name.
c) I get this error frequently (5 out of 6 tests): I open the save picture dialog, and click on the file name control, hit tab, and then hit the down arrrow key and the dialog will close without completing any task.
d) I can't delete a selected file in the file list by hitting the delete key.
e) The right-click context-menu doesn't pop-up on a selected file in the file list.
f) The 'Look in:' folder drop down list control doesn't show focus.
g) The 'File of type:' drop down list control doesn't show itself as in focus when I tab through the control list or click directly on the control itself.
h) The left and right arrow keys in the file list do not move the file selection. Instead this keypress event is processed by the horizontal scroll bar, and even then, the file selection doesn't advance or retreat.
i) In the file list, Page Up and Page Down keypresses do not move the file selection.
My configuration:
Vue 4.05-02
Windows XP Pro
1 gigabyte RAM
Athlon XP 1900+
VisionTek Xtacy 6564 Ti200 Geforce3 video card
Detonator driver for XP v23.11
Did you improve the render engine? This version (than v4.03-2) seems to much faster during the final pass and anti-aliasing.
I discovered these things this morning before going to work. So did I miss anything with these dialogs? It seems like the old adage 'if ain't broke don't fix it' applies here.
