How can I recreate the geometry of a face from photographs of a person with morph targets? Is there a particular technic I should use to achive a result? Thanks AntonisV Aka Akritas

If you're trying to create a specific "face" from a photograph using morph targets the only technique you'll need is a whole truck-load of patience :) There is no "quick and easy" way of doing this, it has to be done a morph at a time, a little tweak here, a little refinement there. Check out Traveler's Morph World (the link is on the right under Web Resources). There are mountains of morphs there that might help you in your task. Good luck Paul

An easier solution may be to give the real face plastic surgery to match Mr Poser :) Lateral thinking man:- PhilC :)

I've done it and Lobo is dead right. One thing that will help is to find really good profile shots and use them for your background in Poser. Load only the character heads (in Additional Figures) and save memory from the load fo the complete body. Set your camera apiture to somewhere around 35mm and angle camera to line up the face as much as you can with the background... add morphs as needed and start losing sleep!

Don't give up akritas! They're just trying to scare you with no reason! :-) It CAN be done and it's not that hard...especially if you have a good distingtive eye for detail and you pick the right morphs. Load the photo as a background to help you sculpture the face more accurately and have a few shots from different angles in hand. It won't take longer than a few hours to come up with results. It has been done by many users so far -me included- and it's a rewarding fun job...not the ordeal they so humorously suggest! :o) renapd

And one added point, it might be easier to use a b/w pic as the background so you don't get distracted by colour. BTW trying to model anyone in particular?

Don't beleive redapd.. it pain, pure and simple. It ook me almost 20 whole minutes to do one! (hehehehe... seriously. I did a face with just the standard adjustments and it came out perfect in 20 minutes. The rest have taken longer, but it IS fun.)

Rena, nope - I wasn't trying to scare him :) But there is no "quick and easy" way, as you say it's going to take a couple of hours at least. Paul
