The modell is not placed on the plane your seeing. Raise the 3DS obj till the feet of the guy slightly disapear in the floor. When you import the 3ds file select"invert normals" maybe there is a second plane that is invisible now, because the normals are un the wrong direction. Can happen in modelling programs

Yes, the figure is floating above the floor.

Okay, that's very strange. Have you tried this by constructing a floor and wall from the cube props in Poser?

I told a friend to made the background in 3DS max, it was not the frist time this happen, but the last time , I just hope to made a floor , so I use a box from props library. The problem was avoid. This time , I hope to avoid the line appear at the place two box joint together, so I use this thing, and the shadow goes away.....

Poser has a problem with scale, so if yoou have increased the scale of the firgure inside poser then that might be the problem, make the object larger when you import it.

Do a search on "background" in the free stuff area. Bloodsong did a similar prop a while back that you might be able to use.

This is not meant as sarcastic, but Peter Pan lost his shadow and Wendy had to stitch it back on to his feet with needle and thread. (OUCH!) If I got an image like your first... I'd be loading a couple of characters and a Victorian sewing box.. If you accidentally get a weird effect that others have to sweat to achieve, try to make use of it. We have magical sparkle lights because somebody's earrings blew up, and who knows what other lab accidents became products or tutorials. Carolly
