In those days it was always a chain; presumably a rope would have been subject to mold, mice, etc.

Hmm - I figured, but wasn't sure. Chains are easier to make in either case (really - beats simulating a knot, making the cord flexible, etc...) Chain it is, then. /P

Excellent Idea! (the baby potty trainer, not the litterbox, that is.) It'll add some time to the ETA, but well worth the effort, IMHO. /P
