Subject: Faked Global Illumination

My initial results with faking global illumination. I used Jeorg Weber's lightdome from freestuff, copied and pasted it, and offset the copy from the original a bit for a total of 322 point lights. I also killed all ambient lighting from the materials and atmosphere (although theres something funky with the atmosphere). Not quite there yet, but I think its promising. Has anyone else done any experiments like this? BTW-This was rendered in Final mode. Rich

That doesn't look too bad, Rich, better than what I was able to get with Joerg's lightdome.

I like the quiet looking marks it is leaving on the ground

Wow, now those are soft shadows without the grain! Very nice! :)
