Can anybody suggest an alternative download site for the Poser 3 Advanced techniques manual(pdf format) other than the Curious Labs website? The zip file is unzippable and the non-zipped file hyperlink takes me to a blank page!! Any help would be appreciated. Mike

Try a couple of other unzip utilities, as I find none of them works on EVERY zipped file. Stuffit Expander works on 85% of those I download. Ultimate Zip handles about 90% of the remainder. Of the others, Winzip or ZipMagic can handle a few, and a couple out of every few dozen I can't open at all. If you still can't open it, contact Curious Labs Tech Support. The link is on the Contact page, accessible from the their Home Page.

Attached Link: http://www.ontrack.com/powerdesk/

I've used Powerdesk for years. It features a zip file utility in addition to a very good file manager. I used the Powerdesk Pro, but rarely use all the features. You can get a free version of Powerdesk that will most likely handle all your needs. Just click that link! Ron

I've been using Winzip for 9 years and have never had it fail to open a zipped file. This is actually the first I've ever heard of utilities failing in this respect.

I keep trying Winzip, and just never really like it. Besides it's more convenient to have a zip utility integrated into my file manager. Run one program for most of my needs. Usually when you can't unzip a file, there is a problem with that file. Sometimes it's actually a problem with the web site that stores the file. In at least one case we heard later that the problem was caused because some hacker was trying to overtake the web host with a Denial of Service attack! Usually they'll try to blame you, and say hundreds of other people got the file just fine. To tell you the truth sometimes I get a bad zip file, and go to my wife's computer to download the file. Then the file unzips just fine. For 99.9% of my downloads, Powerdesk works just fine. Ron

Thanks folks. The response is appreciated. I managed to mess about with Download Accelerator until it eventually downloaded the unzipped version, but I really didn't expect this amount of trouble! Thanks again, Mike
