Just a quick heads up. I just noticed an ad for the coming edition of PCFormat magazine which says they're giving away Cinema 4D (v.5) on the coverdisk, presumabely with some kind of upgrade offer to the latest version. I've no idea whether this mag is available overseas so this may only be of interest to those in the UK. It goes on sale on the 27th (it says here). I've never used Cinema 4D myself but I've heard very good things about it. If anyone's lacking a modeller for this month's challenge: here's your answer! Cheers K.

Cool, Thanks for the info! This free stuff these mags are giving away just keeps getting better and better.

Gotta love those freebies! It works though - I first got Vue 2, Poser 3 and trueSpace 2 as coverdisk freebies and ended up upgrading all of them. I never did upgrade my Bryce 3D freebie - odd that... ;)

Sounds great! Could you provide a link to that statement? I cant find it anywhere! BTW, anyone know if there is a magazine that will feature TrueSpace 2 again? (crossing my fingers)

Dez - I saw this in print ad in Computer Arts magazine. I can't see anything about it at the PCFormat site but then there was nothing about their next issue at all. There discussing it at the Cinema 4D forum if you want more info (http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12400&Form.ShowMessage=571711) I haven't seen TS2 on a cover CD for ages. The last Caligari give away was an 'SE' version of TS 3 but again that was a long time ago. Keep your eyes peeled though - you never know! K.

Yeah, I got the free Amapi 4.15 that way.... DeZ, this link goes to the PC Format home page, but I couldn't find anything there. I got sick of all that flashing Flash stuff there and couldn't bear to press on.....

Well, OK, they're mostly GIF's, but something about the Flash graphic at the top really bugs me :p Thanks again Kattleprod!

The magazine Digit will be having Amapi 5 on a second cd in their next issue (#46, April 02, on sale March 7th). They currently also have Poser3 on the cover disc.

'Afternoon all . . . 8^) I'm just here for a minute, got to get back to work, but as I was reading this thread I thought, I'll post this link = http://amapi.idevgames.com/ . It's for the Amapi 4.15 FREE DOWNLOAD - Full Functioning, "password included" on the site. I've never used this program & I know nothing about it, but geeezzzz, if it's FREE, why not try it? I hope someone else has used it in the past & can shed some light on the program - have a good one . . . Mark. . . ;^)

Cool, Mark, thanks. :) We even have an Amapi forum here, too. Amapi's interface is a little unusual, but it can be used, and it does all the things that the better modelers do, such as NURBS, booleans, lofts, and lathes. Good little program, really, and you can't beat the price. ;)
