This is driving me nuts! I've been through 4 books and the Adobe Website with no luck. How do you make a copyright symbol in Photoshop using Type? I know it can be done I just can't figure out how.

maybe a bit of a stupid way, but i always go to special characters ("speciale tekens" is it in dutch... dunno if it's special characters in english...) then i select it, and copy it... you can also use alt+0169 (that's more siple) did this work?

make sure you use the keypad numbers for this instead of the top row

Can use the Character Map. Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Character Map (Having a shortcut helps). You don't have to remember any of the alt numbers. Once pasted into Photoshop you can change size/font/color etc.

My mistake, I'm working on a MAC. So the windows commands are of no help. Sorry. Still trying to figure this out though.

The equivalent of Windows Alt-0169 to produce a copyright symbol is Op-G for the Mac.

I checked on a WinMe machine and it was the first item in the system tools list. It was installed by default.
Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Character Map
If all else fails, here are a couple of Character Map for both Windows and Mac.
