Am I right in thinking that something in our site's advertisement headers contains a bit of Java-ery that totally sabotages and blocks the cacheing mechanism? I once found in one of them a Java comment that stated exactly that! I know that we need the advertisers to sponsor us, but THERE ARE LIMITS!! If I here in England am looking at page X, which is a forum's contents list, and I go from it to page A, which is one of that forum's messages, and read it, when I go back to page X I want my Microsoft Internet Explorer to read page X straight back from its cache, not to have to wait anything up to several minutes while it reloads across the Atlantic Ocean at dialup line speed just in case the header advertisement has changed. At least please insist on this: that the advertisements are not to force reloads of pages instead of letting the user's computer re-read the page from its cache. If I do want a re-read, I am quite capable of clicking "Refresh".
