Yeah, but I mean just a quick page of our own for the photo forum, 1 page with just like: ..........M A P O F T H E W O R L D......... PHOTO..........description -------------------------------------------------- PHOTO..........description -------------------------------------------------- PHOTO..........description -------------------------------------------------- PHOTO..........description etc Sort of 'at a glance' guide rather than individual pages... (Sorry, I guess I was a bit vague!) (",)

You mean like a world map, with all our locations ?
starshuffler posted Fri, 22 February 2002 at 8:52 AM
Hey, I like your idea, Jordy! (Reminds me of that world domination board game Risk hehehe)
PunkClown posted Fri, 22 February 2002 at 9:15 AM
I wasted days playing that game in my teenage years! Jordy, very interesting idea, what kind of object(s) did you have in mind?
Finder posted Fri, 22 February 2002 at 9:19 AM
These are both good ideas. I'd be in. But what ever happened to that other good idea of having us all take a picture of ourselves at the same moment? Joe
bevchiron posted Fri, 22 February 2002 at 11:49 AM
I wondered what happened to that Joe, thought I'd missed it, wasn't it a picture of what we were doing at the same time? Jordy your idea sounds like fun, crazy of course but fun ; D

JordyArt the second idea of yours is a really good one as I have actually seen something of a similar thing done before, not by an internet group but rather by a mischievous teenager; let me explain lol. A friend of mine was going oversees on a group sporting trip and he just happened to borrow a small garden nomb (spelling) out of a strangers front yard in the middle of the night. He then proceded to take photos of the the object in front of famous landmarks such as the Grand Canyon, Disneyland and Las Vegas etc. He Then mailed the photos back to the owner of the nomb one by one with little notes saying things like " I am having a wonderfull time here, missing you heaps and wishing you could be here with me etc". Then when my friend returned home he in the middle of the night returned the nomb to the front step of the house it came from with another note attatched saying something like " I have had a wonderfull time and have been to some amazing places; but I have missed my other garden friends and you too much to stay away any longer. Please accept me back into your garden and I promise not to run away like that again". The owner of the nomb never knew who took it, but I bet they have one hell of a story to tell people at dinner parties and also have the photos to prove it. I know this has been a little of the track, but it just goes to show you what kind of fun can be had with the idea JordyArt has put forward.

ah...fun story..they had that similar story in the film amelie...the director jean pierre jeunet (whos just a badass by the way)did mention that he used alot of stories and things he jotten down in a notebook that he heard in the past and experiences he went through and used it in the movie.....this being one of them I suppose...
bsteph2069 posted Fri, 22 February 2002 at 4:10 PM
Oh yeah I had heard for that story. The previous picture around the world was agreed upon but the time was never set. As a result it was never done. So let me get this stratight we take a picture of objects that we love in our respective prominent cities at the same time every three days?! Bsteph

This sounds so fun and by the way what DID happen to the taking a pic at the same time idea? :) I'm in.

WHAT..?
Michelle A. posted Fri, 22 February 2002 at 9:05 PM
Bsteph....can't tell if your joking or not so just so you don't get everyone besides yourself confused :~) , this is what Jordy wants to do.... A single object is choosen, one person starts by photographing it and then mailing it to the next person on the list, they photograph it, mail it on....and on. You would only have 3 days to get the job done and send it to the next person. When everyone is done.....we all post the pics. I love this idea......so if were gonna do it...what will this object be?
I am, therefore I create.......

Well, to keep the cost of postage down for the long trips (hi pc!) it needs to be small and light - and DEFINATELY not breakable!!! A little plastic toy or something similar? erm - keeping with the subject of the forum, something like a one of those little plastic joke cameras that squirts water?!? lol other ideas welcome, of course!..... IMO, it would be best to do the map first, then we could work out the shortest trips it would need to take.... oh, and I think we really should look at that 'at the same time' thing again to get it done - I was looking forward to having to get up at 03:30 to snap a half-asleep me....yeah..... (",)
bsteph2069 posted Sat, 23 February 2002 at 5:29 PM
Actually I was joking. But I was also confused! Hmm so we are to photo graph this device then mail it onto the next person. How neat!!! I'm in. I suppose we should also get somwhat organized and showhow exchange our addresses. No point in sending the object a direction it does not have to be. Slynk-Get out of your igloo. Who is starting it off. Antoonio or Stars? Why don't we lest the originator decide! Bsteph

EEK! Cute? He's scary!!!! Still, he's a great volunteer - as long as the postal services of the world treat him with respect!!! Any one got a decent map of the world now?!? What are they called, erm... Mercator maps or summik? (",)

Are you sure you wanna send him. He seems like a nice tyke. But then again better him than any of my action figures. As a small suggestion Alpha how about sending a ( please no laughing ) small inflatable toy. That way the size can be larger without increasing the shipping cost due to weight. Bsteph

I know Guppo is a willing and able volunteer, but I'm afraid he might get lost or sidetracked along the way. (Remember how reliable post offices are LOL...) I'm sure he'd want to return into the arms of Alpha, but who knows, he might end up with another evil puppet master. I suggest something lightweight and replaceable first, to test if this thing works or not. If it does, then Guppo can decide if he still wants to push through with the trip. :-) I'm willing to start it off, unless somebody is more willing than I am LOL, as soon as I find something interesting to send. And if I do get to start it, who do I send it to? (*

I think we need that map...
