Maybe I don't fully understand UV Mapping. I do understand how to make a new template (I think-now I'm not so sure). However, using Steve Shanks' mini flare dress (which I continue to use for experimenting because it lends itself so well to that and conforms easily) I tried doing 'braid' around the armholes and neck. As you can see from the image, it mapped as 'epaulets' instead-by stretching over the shoulders. I think it would map better for this particular application as a planar map, but I don't seem to be able to do this correctly. If I understood what I've been told in the past, I must also make a new model in order to do this. I created the planar map and texture--see bottom right-- saved the model as an .obj in my geometry file (with a different name) but don't know how to get that model into Poser to be used. I have an .obj, but I don't have a .cr2 for it to show up in my library. What DON'T I understand please and what must I do--or have I understood this whole thing wrong and want UV Mapper to do something it isn't capable of? After I made the planar map, I tried to apply it to the original model but it wouldn't map correctly and I could see that it was trying to map a planar to a 'cylinder' model. Just when I thought I had this all straightened out in my head LOL!!! Diane B
