I want to create some water splash effects to surround something coming out of water. How can I do that? Can I also create a ripple effect? Any ideas? Thank you!

I've been trying for some time now to get water splashing from waves crashing against rocks for a Lighthouse scene without much luck. I can't remember where I saw it but I do recall seeing a tut for making ripples. I'm guessing, try making a gray scale image in a photo editor prog. of a circular pattern your looking for and import it into Bryce using it in the Terrain Editor? DM aka Nite Miner

The ripples are fairly easy ... a terrain editor model with the greyscale circles like DM suggested ... It depends on what kind of splash effect you want but I think Codemans splurt would work well ... You can find it as a freebie at his site in the links below ... The R.S.O.B. site below has a good number of links to wave and water tutorials ... Hope that helped some

Heya, There are also ripples on the BryceFreestuff page..just do a search for ripples and they should come up. When you have them you might have to play a bit it the materials editor to come up with a water that looks good on the terrain. Hope that helps Regards Eshal

What I'm trying to do for the Lighthouse scene I'm working on is have very large crashing waves that almost totally engulf the Lighthouse. I can get the basic shapes of these waves but the spray never quite comes out right. The scene is from a photo sequince I saw a couple of years ago on the web and haven't been able to find it sence. I don't know how they got the photos and survive. They had to be completely mad to be out in a helocopter in a raging storm to get the shoots. The shoots were so dramatic that I can still see them very well from memory. I've seen other people pull it off so I know it can be done. More of a case where my skills aren't quite as good as they need to be. DM aka Nite Miner

ripples should be easy by adding mutliple torus'one bigger than the other in a bullseye pattern. as for splash effects, Ive had increddible results using my particle mesh splatter pack objects, they are located on my site under 3D Models/Misc 1. http://www.chemicalstudios.com/ FT

Well, I did get good results with greyscale circles created and blurred in Photoshop.
