The yearly competition for press photographers in Norway is over. Here is the over all winner, Ken Oppbran's winning picture:
Brage's freeing flight More of the fire pictures The free lance photographer had his camera with him when he came by an appartment building in Oslo that was in fire. The situation was highly dramatical when the mother had to throw her 2 year old son, Brage out of the window and then jump herself. The firefighters were present, and all went well, but this is a "winning shot" A couple of the other pictures presented by the largest paper in Norway; Aftenposten (who got 9 of the prizes):
Sunrice on Ganges, Stein Bjge I like this: :)
"Taste of Oslo, by Ingar Storfjell The next is taken in through the windows in the library of Oslo Univeristy . You see Norway's future busy preparing themselves for examn. :)
"In the world of knowledge", by Tom A. Kolstad.

That winning image is really dramatic, talk about being in the right place... Taste of Oslo is cool ; ) but I think the shot of the library is my favourite, great image.

Alpha it sure is! On the other hand, the article that went with the picture of course showed more than this winning photography. But can you imagine what went through the toddlers mind when mom dropped him??? I like the library picture too. :) Maybe it appeals to the voyerism in us humans? :) The colors are nice too, though. These are all fabulous pics, that first one made my heart stop! I like the library pic best, too - maybe you should resurrect that idea, Alpha....
