Myske, before reformatting, find out which DLLs are turning up missing. It's possible that one or two of them got corrupted somehow and could simply be replaced with new copies!

Yes, this is true. Sometimes uninstalling shareware/freeware programs can take shared .dll's with them, ans Windows little warning message doesn't exactly state the potential harm very well. If you've recently uninstalled software right before this happened, you might consider reinstalling it. Can't hurt, and it's better than reformatting.

And also, it's seems to me that there are some Windows system files which can be found downloadable from Microsoft.

Thanx for your concern all . But its not only the dll stuff. More errors on systray etc. and ofcourse no IA on that PC yet. regards Myske

Load your Windows CD, and at bootup select "Boot with CDROM support", and then type "D:Setup.exe" to reinstall Windows. When it asks you if you wish to save your previous configuration (in case you want to change your mind and go back to your old Windows installation) choose "NO". BTW: missing dll files are usually caused by faulty installations of programs, which usually can be fixed by reinstalling them again. If that doesn't work I try reinstalling Windows, but only if I run out of ideas lol Good luck in whatever you decide to do JoeBlack
