Alot of training and practice. There are many ways to do that image. VERY complicated. Experiment with PS. There is no simple answer.

Hairball is right. While that image would be a piece `o' cake for a Photoshop expert... It's becoming the expert that's complicated. In order to explain how to do this imge, one would have to teach you how to use the program. that goes far above and beyond any kind of help you can reasonably expect from a forum. Check out google.com, and do a search for 'photoshop tutorials'. Or get yourself a a decent book.

Hmmm.. Lets see. Layers, blending modes, masking, perspective adjustments, text tools, styles, liquify, lighting, and standard optimizing adjustments. Where would you like to start? (Just teasing)

We will have tutorials coming on a lot of this stuff in the near future. For now, I would say start with your Adobe manual, read about the various features listed and start experimenting.

YO HO, HOW! Nice blending there. Sometimes its the challenge to figur out how the artist did works like that. Can anyone among you explain to me the function of the liquify tool. Where did the artist use it on the above poster. What does the control actually do? Can't seem to get the tool to do anything on mine, unless there's something wrong with my PS's liquify tool. dv8

c-murder? Isn't he literally in jail for murder? Oh well, no one'll be photoshopping and new album covers for him for awhile. The liquify tool as far as I can tell is a replica of a KPT6 filter. Can't remember the name of hte filter, but it essentially made blobs and such. I can't see where it's done there personally.

Man, these covers just sucky sucky.....really badly cut out stuff....I've always learned to work on the whole image (all the layers flattened together) as the last step, cause now there's no common lightsource or whatever. And that white drop shadow is something you can go to jail for in my country!

Hey again, Those images came from this company called "Pen & Pixel Graphics". They design CD covers for hip-hop artists mostly. I wasn't sure what softare that they used to make those images, then, I was told it was Photoshop. If you would like to see more examples of their work, you can go to: www.penandpixel.com and click on the box marked "world famous artwork" and then click on the images that you see and it will take you to their galleries of more images. Please check it out and tell me what you think. Umm... Yeah, I KNOW that I would have to get books and such (Duh). I'm just trying to see HOW those were done. I KNOW you would have to be good. But, that's with ANY software. I know they used a little bit of this, understood that, used this type tool and used that type tool. That's generally speaking. It's still all good. Yeah, DV 8, they did C-Murder's cover and YES he is in jail for murder, the big dummy!! All that money and fame and he has to be stupid!! Oh, yeah, I have run into a few people that say that those images suck and they critize the way they were done. This other forum called "CGCHAT.com" has a moderator named "cookepuss" that was saying the same thing. But, like I told "sourpuss". With ALL due respect. Of the people that say P&PG suck, let me see THEM do better. Also, let's see THEM get praised in countless magazines, generate business with THOUSANDS of clients AND, have their images help generate OVER $750, 000, 000 in record sales. He got so mad that not only did he have NOTHING to say about it, he deleted the topic because their was nothing he COULD say because he couldn't show me ANY of his work that was better than P&PG's. But, if anyone thinks that their work is sloppy, BY ALL MEANS, show me YOUR work. :P Guys, thanks for the replies, cause you took time out and it's apreciated non-the-less. Take care. Mystro

who cares if they sell CDs, the covers still suck majorly. They are a horrifying example of how NOT to use plug-ins. Destineal's cover is the worse one. Those stupid CD titles are even more idiotic. They are always the same stupid theme "do or die" "born fo yo money" "gimme du green" "I iz know gud grammur!" anger.....
