I posted here yesterday about a problem I was having with Poser. I received in response a wealth of helpful questions and suggestions. I'm now posting here to provide sort of an update, and a thanks as well. First off, I got a response from Curious Labs, who basically told me, "Sucks to be you!" Obviously, they weren't going to be of any help. As I mentioned, I had been getting very helpful suggestions from a few members, but nothing had been able to solve my problem. I had decided, today, that I would just have to wipe my drive and start over. Then, I noticed a question by EricTorstenson about my system possibly having System Restore that I didn't see before going to bed last night. I hadn't really thought of this, and anything was worth a shot if I was already going to reformat, so I tried this. I'm very happy to say that (so far (Knock on wood!)) this has solved my problem completely! I'm still not sure exactly what happened, but all I had to do was restore to last Sunday and reinstall Poser. So, at this point, I would like very much to thank the following users for their overwhelming support: bloodsong Strangechilde Nukeboy EricTorstenson (thanks especially for the System Restore idea!), and poserfool Thank you all so much! I am forever indebted to you. Aaron

Hey there! I'm very glad to see you got back up and running-- I was wondering. I've gotten more than my share of help and advice from folks at this forum. Seems it's what it's here for. I hope to see you around lots! Benedictions-- Strange

Great! I'm glad to hear you are back up and running. I use winME myself, and have been burned many times installing stuff (mostly updates for my RADEON graphics card). As a result, I have learned to lean very heavily on the system restore utility (just wasn't sure if it was part of the XP system). A recommendation for anyone using a windows 9x OS. Find the system restore and create a backup point. 98 has one, it is just hard to find, and doesn't index it's files without you telling it to do so (ME does, luckily, but you can also force it to remember the current state) eric

;) I'm glad you've found a good place to hang around!

Thank you very much, Eric! I would never have thought of using that fine little utility! In XP, it now updates every day that the computer is on, or you can tell it to update at the current point. But, definitely, I agree with that recommendation - this is one of Microsoft's best ideas ever! Best wishes, Aaron
