Anyone having problems with this new Stephanie and trans maps? Every single time I apply a trans map to the eyelashes, and then try to render, Poser crashes. Every time. And I've tried it about 7 times. Invariably, after reopening Poser for the 3rd time, the figure comes in with no body texture--just all white, even though the texture is (supposedly) there. Just your basic out-of-memory-time-to-reboot thing, although I know I'm not out of memory. Got plenty of that. But still Poser will not load the body texture again until after rebooting. Weird.

I had a problem with installing the Stephanie Texture. Got a bad CRC check on the texture .jpg. It just happened, I e-mailed DAZ. Haven't heard anything yet, maybe it's related to that.

I've had no problems so far (using WindowsXP) I applied all the textures using the MAT poses (including the transparencies). The only thing weird I noticed so far is that the textures weren't applied on her nipples. I had to manually apply the textures.

I might add that this was just a Mike texture I bought, and not the Stephanie texture. It works fine with M and M2.

I had poser crash after doing some mat poses for her texture and then hair. but I had done a few quick renders. but after a restart of poser and doing it again but not rendering and saving the lady and then rebooting and then doing an image (I tend to do these steps alot) I had no problems.

Nope, I don't have this problem (neither with a Mike or the Stephanie texture). shrug

Not having a problem with trans either. Working with Mike textures though. (Not the hairy ones!)

Also the Mike eyelashes don't work, so if you use a Mike texture replace the eyelash and trans for eyelashes with Stephi's and you will be fine. Marque

I also had a problem trying to install the hi-res textures. It tells me the StephBodyM2Hi.jpg isn;t installing correctly.

OK, thanks. It's still happening, but I guess it must just be something on my end, or with the particular texture I'm using. Great picture, thgeisel

Mike, the UVs are different on all the transparency areas of Stephanie. The other changes took place on the chest and hip area for obvious reasons. Cris

Thanks Cris, that makes sense, although I've accidentally applied wrong materials before without Poser crashing when trying to render. And, I saw your picture, Angel of Sorrows of the 25th anniversary issue of Computer Graphics World, on page 43.... Lovely image. :)

I am on a Mac with PP and bought the high rez textures. I loaded everything and thoug all looks ok when I applied the mat it changed the colors of materials, but didn't apply the texture itself. I had to manually do so. Anyone know why?

Hey Mike, your not the only one. I don't get a crash, just no activity. When I hit "Render" it never get's past the little dialog box telling me it is rendering. Leaving it sit for a long time doesn't help things in any way. I am using the hi-res textures, and tried it first with the full bump map (48Megs for the body) and then shrank the file down to half the size, with same results. I'm not sure what is going on. I thought I would let you know that you are not the only one. eric

Never mind. I was using the PP mats instead of the P4 Mats. Doh!
MadYuri posted Sun, 10 March 2002 at 3:18 AM
The Daz textures have 2 sorts of MAT files. One for Poser 4 (P4) and one for Pro Pack (PP). If you apply the PP MAT files in Poser 4 you get those black sooty look. Try the P4 MAT's.
