I think an animation-gallery should be a great addition to this great site. There are many people who make wonderfull anomations, but you can't upload these to the standard gallery's because you just can't put much film in 512KB. I've seen such great showreals and stuff like that of all kinds of people from professionals to amatures all over the web that I think it would really be worth the extra effort of making a special gallery for this subject. So lets make an animation gallery and make this great site even better!

Think about how much money it would cost to the people running the servers if animations, long and short, were being uploaded and downloaded a few hundred times a day. I think I asked this awhile ago somewhere, and one of the admins said it's just not feasible, and to try and find my own personal hosting, then link to it or something.

An animation gallery would be feasible, but definately not hosting many of those large animation files. I don't see why you couldn't do as Slynky suggested and put up a thumbnail with a link. Similar to the freebies section.

well we can already do that in the forums though. Personally, I care more about feedback than ratings and hot 20 votes. If you post in your favourite haunts, you'll get some good feedback. Now I need hosting for my 11 meg divx...

Thanks for the feedback. This has been something we have wanted to provide. Due to the high level of bandwidth we have now, we have not found a reasonable way to do this yet. Setting up similar to the free stuff, well we have some issues with our current setup and will be making changes to the free stuff area in several months. We are still brainstorming. thanks tammy
