Taken on Saturday night with my little HP 315 digital. No post work, except to shrink it for posting. I took some more with my Pentax SLR using Fuji Reala with a diffuser filter and a 4 star cross filter (which I then stuck over the lens of the 315 to get the candles for above) but those probably won't get developed until this weekend after I finish the roll. If they look any different (better) I'll post if anyone's interested.
Not bad for my first upload. :)

Looks like you have something to celebrate?! I really like the light effect you captured on the candles, if your other shots work out it would be nice to see a detail of that.

Congratulations....to whom I'm not sure, but best of everything to them! The star filter effect worked out well. :-)>

I really like the candles. I think the bouquet would benefit from a soft light from the top

bevchiron: Yep. An engagement. PunkClown: Name's Ayer. I'm rather happy with the star effect too. Holding the 44mm filter in front of the digital camera lens was a little annoying but the effect was worth it. Caledonia: Hmm, I might be able to actually get that effect. Don't have access to any lighting boxes or rigs... not sure if I'd know how to use them if I did, but I might have something close. Of course, by now the roses have all opened, and I'm not sure if they'll last long enought to let me try a few ideas, but we'll see. Any suggestions for direction? Straight down? Angled?

How about above but slightly to the left. Almost like its coming from the candles. Don't worry about faded roses, she'd love to have more anyway!

I'll definitely try that for the next bouquet. Lately, I've been doing custom arrangements for her, and I'm going to try to take pics of them. Alpha: I'll try. It's all horribly amateurish, but hey, you guys can always give me some constructive butchering. :) Most of the stuff I do is portraiture, and the volunteer models are kinda shy. But I'm also working on an architectural project. As it comes along, I'll post the pics here.
