For some reason they don't seem to respond to magnets. I've read a few magnet tutorials and I think I'm doing everything right but nothing happens the way it does with other clothes -- nothing happens at all. I'm really happy with the quality of the stuff I've gotten from PW, but this is severely limiting my use of them. I wanted to run this by the folks here to see if maybe I'm missing something obvious.

I've had that same problem with some clothing items by As Shanim. I have no idea what causes it but I'm interested in hearing if someone has a solution to it.

Some of the clothes are higher resolution than the standard clothes so you have to fiddle with the scaling etc of the magnets to allow for that, i haven't personally used them a lot but rena does quite a bit so it is possible, just need to fiddle with the settings...if i can help at all with any specific model/morph just let me know :o)........Steve

Yeap... and to certify that.. all the morphs on Ramses cloak to open, bend etc were done with magnets... I'm afraid my personal 3D modeling knowledge just ends up there..on magnets! LOL Rena

Cool, thanks guys. When I get a chance I'll sit down at home and work out exactly what the issues are with which items (biblical man gown comes to mind) and get back to you. Thanks again.

Hey Eowyn ... what As Shanim/AwfulSoul stuff did you have probs with? And I've successfully magged most of the Victoria clothing from PWFW subscription area to fit my Pamela character. Takes a little extra fiddling than stuff like the Daz clothing pak but turns out just as good :)

Any chance it's a platform issue? I'm working on a Mac. I don't see why it would be, but I thought I'd mention it. Apparently I'm doing something wrong, but I'm darned if I can figure it out. Would scaling the magnet make a difference? I left it the size it was because it seemed to match the size of the area I wanted to deform. Oh, also I notice that your using PPP and I have P4; again I wouldn't think it would matter, but...?
steveshanks posted Wed, 13 March 2002 at 1:52 PM
i think the size of the mag zone is the important bit rather than the size of the magnet....i tried it in p4 rather than PPP with the same result..i guess it could be a mac issue but i can't see why it would matter, i reckon best bet is email me your mag to look at :o).....Steve

So, how do I go about that? I'm not sure how to isolate just the mag. I've never uploaded any poser stuff before.
steveshanks posted Wed, 13 March 2002 at 3:22 PM
just save the mag in your props library then compress it with stuffit and mail it to me here steve@poserworld.com ...Steve :o)

Thanks for your help Steve. I love your stuff, I just need to get it to behave! I'll do that as soon as I get home this evening.

Okay, so I saved the magnet and was about to send it off, but before I did there were a few trifles that I wanted to get out of the way first, just to make sure. First, I wanted to try scaling the magnets like you did to see if it would make a difference and it didn't. Second, I said I was using the Biblical Man Gown, when in fact I'm using the "Male Gown"(MG). I noticed the difference when you posted your image and checked the file names. So just to be on the safe side I loaded the BMG and got precisely the same results you did, i.e. it worked. Gave him a big ol' woody. I tried it on a few other items and they worked okay too. So it's not a magnet issue (as far as I can tell) but seems to be a thing with the Male Gown. Any idea why that might be? I can still send you the magnet if you like, though. I'm out of the woods for now, because I can make use of the BMG instead, but I'd like to get to the bottom of the other one when you have time. Thanks!
