Ok, I'm sure it's been asked before, but a quick search didn't turn up much. It's been a while since I needed to create a seamless texture by hand. I know in 5.5 there was an option to tile your image, so you could see the edges. I upgraded to 6 a while back and the manual for the upgrade isn't as full as I would like. (also somewhat beat to hell already). Since it's been too long, I forget where the options were in 5 to display your image on a sphere, cube, etc., so that you could check the edges. Any help from the Photoshop masters would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -James

Tile making in brief: Use the offset filter and offset by half your image size both horizontaly and verticaly. Use the clone tool to remove pesky and troublesome 'crosshair' seam. Voila!

I knew it was something simple. I just haven't had to do it for so long. Guess that's the price of having so many "pre-made" textures. Just got lazy. ;) Thanks, - James

Hmmm... just went through all the filter options in 5 & 6... didn't see the 'offset' option. Ah well.. I'll keep poking around. Could have sworn I had something on this somewhere in this mess of a HD I call home. ;)

For a 3d effect, you can create cylinder, sphere and cube in Photoshop in: Filter - Render - 3D Transform ------- For a 2d effect with repeating seamless edge images (or kaleidoscope tile), Image Ready has a Tile Maker that you can find in: Filter - Other - Tile Maker
