Just curious, I just tried to place an order and the checkout page keeps coming up "This page is unavailable" for me. Just wondering if it's my browser or if it's the site itself. I'd really like to pick up Mike and Steph and haven't been able to yesterday or today so far.

Ive had the same problem for months. The fast connection (at work) doesn
t work. The home one (56K)does. It has stopped me buying several bigger items, although to be fair DAZ would set up a temporary URL connection. Can only suggest checking a few different browser security settings, as youre going onto a secure download area. If this doesn
t work, contact DAZ. Day iz nize peepl. B)

I Just bought them late last night/this morning worked like a charm. I'm on (56k)so maybe there is an advantage to being slow. Tashar 59

Hrmm, It's gotta be something with IE 5 and Road Runner then. Maybe I'll try calling them because I can't even set up a new account over there...

It may be IE 5 or your local area. Where I used to live I had a terrible time but thats because the local backbone was always in disrepair and they were always opening everything up to "expand." It was roadrunner.. they are VERY bad about that. I think my service actually worked about 1/4 the time. Anz

That happend to me before, except it wasn't on my computer. Another computer in my house couldn't load the store, but mine could. I think if you clear your temporary internet files that might help. Could be wrong though.

I made an order at a friend's house once on his computer - went thru IE, but it I would get the same error message you are. So, I switched browsers over to Netscape & the order went thru successfully. I use IE at home 5.x & now 6 & have never had problems ordering. So, it may just be a computer being picky or as sjk77 suggested, clear the temporary internet files & see what that does for ya.

Check your cookie settings. I have to lower mine from 'block all cookies' temporarily to make full use of the DAZ site, including buying and picking up the weekly free items.

Does that to me too.. was fine up to a couple of months back also, then wham.. can't get into the secure server to order. Cleared caches doesn't help folks, also cookies thing on mine is set to minimum.

I picked up the Dreamer Wings today and got that error... And then the download was unbelievably slow.

I'm afraid I've been having horrible problems with DAZ's store. Last week I bought Michael and the Hatchie dragon, and had to do it seperately because the page kept crashing; I just barely got them. Then today when I went to get Stephanie, the checkout script died and took my gift certificate code with it. It won't let me try again because "that gift certificate has already been used", even though I never got to the download screen. I wrote DAZ and hopefully I can get her tomorrow, but I hate having to wait. I like instant gratification.

Yes, always happens to me when I buy something from DAZ. Either the checkout page runs around in circles after hitting the download button, or it downloads the http-script of the page instead (quite useful, but it won't accept any morph targets & doesn't conform to the Dork). Then I always have to contact DAZ to give me a temporary URL, which each time they do, and they do it very quickly (thanks again for that). But it is somewhat of a pain in the butt (for them as well, I guess). On my downloading Stephanie, the d/l-page crashed a number of times, and I ended up with incomplete zip-files (which, of course, don't open). If this happens to you, make sure you throw the incomplete zip-file into the dustbin and clear the temp. internet files folder. Otherwise you end up with the rest of the incomplete file, next time you attempt to download (and I don't know of any way how to fiddle the 2 together and make them 1 zip-file). However, finally, on the fourth or fifth attempt, Steffie came strolling onto my harddisk in one piece, and now I'm having fun with her (if my wif's not around, that is).

I haven't had any problem buying. I use Firefox and sometimes Chrome. I read that you shouldn't use Internet explorer anymore. That it was a security risk

Notice this post is from 2002. I suspect it showed up as current because someone spammed the thread with junk and then the post got removed, but the "most recent post" link remains.
It's gotten beyond ridiculous. Evidently they don't see it as urgent enough to fix. Meanwhile, customers are inconvenienced by all the post confusion.

ATM, everyone should be diligent in recognizing outdated posts before responding. It is getting ridiculous and tiresome.
