We stopped a script attack on the Renderosity site this morning. The script was using a feature on the login page that will "email a forgotten username/password". It's apparent motive was to see if a list of email addresses were registered on the site. We have made some coding changes to detect this in the future. We blocked the IP address and banned the related member so hopefully there will be no more of these emails going out to members. Tim

Ah G Would be nice if this was posted in a prominent place - such as the Renderosity's main page?? I had already added myself to the throng of posts from ppl who had gotten the multiple e-mails. :)

Been thinking of this issue for some time today. Good guestion Sharkey. I would kind of like to know this as well. And sense the member was banned from the site and the policy is to announce such bannings at this forum. Kind of would like to know this also. That info would be of help if we start having things start happening. Have fun Dave

I'm with Sharkey, I would also like to know if they got our emails and passwords. And if they were banned, I think that the they should be treated as any other member that is banned and it announced in the forum.

got eight messages with my password the day before yesterday. yesterday i got 20+ spams from xxx-sites. do i have now legal right to mame or something similar that piece of $%&?

I too used to get DAYLY about 250 spam and xxx sites unsolliscited junk-mails on my MSN-hotmail mail.(Had three accounts: It made about 750 junk-mail daily...) SO, IT'S SIMPLE: I LEFT MSN HOTMAIL ! Let's ee how long I will be "left alone and quiet" on my NEW e-mail...but the sharks have big teeth, Dear, Beware, Mackies ! But they won't get us ! Thanks & Bravo to Renderosity Staff for what they did & thanks to this great Site !
