Not sure if you can get the true feeling of this, but I thought I would try posting it anyway.

The original is 12" X 16" @ 300 PPI. It is the first time I have made an image that exceeded 1 GB in file size. There is actually only two photographs used to create this, but the image is currently 13 layers deep.

Over 1 GB!! Wow! I love the earthy/mossy colours in this, and that central character looks like something envisioned in a peyote hallucination! Very cool.... :-)>

Rohyphnol posted Fri, 15 March 2002 at 8:05 AM

uh...did he say peyote hallucination, ehe....he sure is specific with all the hallucinating drugs around....hmmmm...damn one gig...need a fire extinguisher if I were to do that to my computer...looks good alph..

Well, lol! Yeah, Rohyp, it's indeed like an LSD trip...well, I assume ;)

PunkClown posted Fri, 15 March 2002 at 8:30 AM

psilosybe cubensis, Delta-9 tetra-hydro-cannibol, ethanol, tabacco, nitrous-oxide, vercuronium, pentothal, adenosine, methyldopa, oxygen....haliperadol, hell, even rohyphnol! LOL! I'm a nurse silly, they make you do these drugs! (OK you're expected to study the pharmacology of them...not actually take them, but hey, I got a bit confused at university...) :-)>

Rork1973 posted Fri, 15 March 2002 at 8:39 AM

LOL!

Rohyphnol posted Fri, 15 March 2002 at 8:50 AM

yup there ya go...they are not drugs....they are filters...and they got all kinds, life = photoshop...(looking up all the drugs punk has mentioned that are unknown to me....well temporarily unknown that is)...

PunkClown posted Fri, 15 March 2002 at 8:56 AM

They are all real compounds...it's just that some of them you won't find stocked at a Pharmacy!

You saw that too, Punky? ...I think it was in about 1981, but I can't exactly remember. Now that I think about it, I don't remember 1980 too well either. Joe

doruksal posted Fri, 15 March 2002 at 4:39 PM

You name the work as "Primative", and I see the faint traces of a face like a mandrill face...
Really looks like a mandrill pictured on a cavern wall eons of time ago (thus, the image weathered and worn), and you've hold out a torch upon the wall and explore the image at present time... :-)

1 GB for an image..!!!
You really must be working with the supercomps that NASA also uses... :))

Misha883 posted Fri, 15 March 2002 at 9:39 PM

Um, it is very pretty...

billglaw posted Fri, 15 March 2002 at 11:13 PM

I'm impressed, both by the image and the file size. But where do you archive 1.0 gig. DVD writer? Really, Alpha this really shows what can be done with the combination of vision, talent and tools. Thanks,

Wow Alpha, It is beautyful and has a mysterious shimmer that make my fantasy fly... But the filesize? It must have taken soooo long time to make.

Alpha, all the above (but please, peyote is sooooo different from LSD), and I would absolutely love to see the original 2 photographs that inspired you to come up with this work of art! It may help us to look a bit deeper into the possibilities of our own work.
