As you can see in the image, I'm getting a faint image above the normal eyebrows, which I'm blaming on the upper eye. My upper eye settings are min:100%, max:100%, falloff:0, highlight:1%. no texture map, I do have a trans map and the object color is brownish. These are the same settings(as far as I can see) the the v2mapnaturalp4hi mat uses. If I apply the v2mapnaturalp4hi mat to my character, the problem goes away, but I can't see any difference in settings. Brows gone are 0 for both vicki and my character. I can simulate the problem with the v2natural mat if I set min trans to 0 and max trans to 90%. I seems like even though the trans settings are at 100%, they aren't fully rendering at 100%. The only thing I can see I could have done is I copied the vicki 2 texture and trans maps into my character's folder and renamed them and then pointed my character to the new files, but I have not modified the files. If anyone has any ideas on this, I'd love to hear them. This is driving me up the wall!

My guess (and its only a guess) is that the trans map is not a fully black and white, but rather a little bit grey.

The highlight color and slider are not the same as the face.

Make sure your falloff is set at 0%. This can sometimes leave a ghost image if it's set at the 16% or whatever it defaults to. Melanie

It seems like the underlying object color for the eybrows and the face are different. Make also sure that the ambient color is the same as the face. Sometimes one of the two is pure black and the other is a very dark brown, so it's impossible to see the difference, that's why I suggest you set the ambience manually, for both of them.

Maira, you were right! I now remember I had increased the ambient color somewhat for the skin, but did not do it for the eyebrows. Once I set the ambient color for the eyebrows the same as the skin, everything renders fine!
Thank you!
