I'm working on this robot spider guy...and when I import any body parts into poser almost all the menu options go greyed out, including the exit and render buttons. The only ones that stay working are the help and animation menus I've resized the spider in max to make it really really tiny so when I import into poser it comes through as the right size, but I don't think this is the problem as it did this even with a larger version of the spider Thanks for any help you can give me, as always it's appreciated =) SewerRat

The only time I saw this happen is when there is more than one copy of the import plugin installed. Check to see if this is the case. -JH.

other objects I've made I seem to be able to export/import to poser with impunity but....as soon as I import something from this model...no menu weird 'eh? could it be some polygon count thing? but that sounds wrong, this doesn't use excessive vertices SewerRat

Run it through UVmapper and save it out, then see what happens. -JH.

but UVMapper only loads obj files, and max doesn't export to obj I'm using 3DS files right now SewerRat

ok...I'm not sure why this was messing up, but if I export the 3ds file into polytrans, then export as obj it imports just fine and dandy THANKS FOR YOUR HELP JEFF! SewerRat

SeweRat if you get the max2obj plugin from habware then you can export to obj from Max Chris-S

I was looking for that, checking out www.ktx.com what is the URL for habware? www.habware.com doesn't seem to work. I also read somewhere (on a tutorial site I think) that it doesn't work 100%...but shrug I'm not going to look a gift horse in it's mouth =) Thanks! SewerRat
