I'm new to Poser. I tried to download Thorne's Mikki character, and SnowSultan's poses (from funstuff at Poserforum.com). I can unZip them, but I can't get my Mac to reconginze them as Poser files. What do I have to do to get them into Poser (it may well be something little that I am overlooking, as a newbie to the program).

You'll need the Mac converter by Martin C. It's on the FS pages utility section. -JH.

Make sure you get version 1.1.2. And don't let it throw you when the file in Free Stuff says "PC only;" Maconverter will handle anything and everything; it's freaking indispensable!

Thanks, both of you. I'll try to download that utility. I looked at the files in ResEdit, and noted that they didn't have any resource fork. Now those duplicate files with .rsr on the end make some sense. I edited the unZipped files in ResEdit, to give them the same Type and Creator that other character and pose files have, and I got them to load, albeit with some grumbling from the system. The utility would seem to be the way to go. - JimW

Dont't try to treat the .rsr files with ResEdit - it's not working. Just drag the whole stuff (.rsr's included) onto Maconverter, and it should do its job... http://www.main-rheiner.de/homepage/soft.rabbit
