Try standing like that and you will lean/fall towards the foot that is up. Her bellybutton area should be over the foot on the groung for the center-of-gravity to look real, in my opinion. Best to center the body over the center-most point touching the ground. Looking good so far!!

Looks very good and natural and relaxed to me.Although i never stand this way.

I see what you mean about the center of gravity, but as for leaning, she is supposed to be leaning into the wall, so the upwards leg pushed her the opposite way (at least when I stand on a wall corner it does that). I will adjust her abdomen oner her straight foot :~) Thanks!

Looks natural to me, although I tend to stand with one foot up against the other ankle :)

Well, you're really asking for really tiny details. I think it looks fine, but then I'm not Poserangelo. To really discect it, I have to say when I am relaxed, my shoulder usually slope down a bit more than hers. And my supporting leg would not be parallel with the wall. It would be out a little. But like I said, if a person just looks at picture, it's obvious she is pretty much relaxed and thinking about something, something, I would hazard a guess, not too deep.

I'd move the foot that's on the floor a bit further away from the wall, and angle the hips slightly against the angle of her shoulders...

Might lean the head back a bit, she looks like she is too intent on something to her left offstage.
3-DArena posted Thu, 28 March 2002 at 1:35 PM
Thanks all! That is very helpful and I will continue tweakig her some more.
Bizarro, she is supposed to look to the left, that is where the disclaimer statement is on the webpage where she is placed.
I am going to work on her pose some more and then replace the current version.

To me she looks to stiff to be relaxed. I thing she needs more shoulder droop, the trunk is too stiff and vertical, and her knee looks too extended. Even though she is leaning I agree with the center of mass comments from above. I know it would be very difficult, however, if she is depending on the wall for support the parts of her body in touch with the wall would be deformed (flattened). For example her left foot on the wall would like like it was going into the wall, thus no black line between the wall and the left foot. I'm also not comfortable with her right shank. Perhaps it is the lighting but it looks to me like her shank is externally rotated with respect to her thigh. perhaps consider a ground plane too.

Lady, you might try Anton's method for adjusting eye position (I think it was looking out 3 degrees on the sides and up 3 degrees, he gave them as negative numbers) because most human eyes aren't exactly parallel in focus, and with the head held slightly down, the eyes would look upwards. If she is "lost in thought", the slightly out-of-focus look might help convey that. Carolly

Does anyone else remember back in thier 3rd grade science class experiment showing that boys couldn't keep thier balance while thier feet were close to the wall, but girls could? The girl center of gravity is a bit different. Now I am gonna go drown my sorrows for a while in a cup of tea. That was a terribly long time ago..
