....because "HTML for dummy" made the other thread go poof. This is a better place for it anyway. (I'm gonna get it when Audre gets back, though...) ;] There will be 4 categories based on the 4 seasons. Any fractal software is acceptable. each season has it's own colors, and thread to post in. There will be 4 prizes. Please only post one entry per season. Spring- green, yellow, pink. Summer- blue, gold, violet. Fall- red, orange, brown. Winter- white, silver, grey, black. There! Let's fractal!

Also- images a maximum of 200K. Entries will be accepted until April 30. Winners will be determined by community vote. One prize per person. (Sounds fair, dont't you think?)

A couple of questions & comments ... Will there be the ususal r'sity contest page format with thumbnails and a voting button to click on when it comes to casting the votes? If not - is there any special reason for this? Or will we have to reply to the forum with public votes again like the banner contest? I've found the threads for each season's entries are already very slow to download, and this is bound to get worse as the end of the contest draws near. If fractal contests are going to be frequent and prolific, maybe a separate fractal contest/challenge gallery should be started, with decent sized thumbnails - like the other galleries? Tina Oh, and - er - what exactly *are the prizes? ;-))

Honestly? Most of the answers are "I don't know yet". Audre is teaching me how to do contests- I sort of hit the ground running here as mod. I will find out as quickly as I can. I know Audre is supplying the prizes. Good point about the threads- I'm on a dialup, and I don't dare look at the entries until I have to. I'll definitely work that out for the next contest, this one if I can.

hint: turn off automaticaly load images. then your pages load fast. turn off javascript too unless you realy need it. then when you want to see an image, right click on the small outlined square, find the 'show image' choice in the menu and choose it. that image alone will load. only once in a long time will you need to actualy click the images icon at the top of page and load the whole page. I use netscape and this is how i have to surf the web because of my slow connection. i'm sure you can do simular stuff in ie

Thanks for replying Michele :-) I've uploaded my entries to each of the seasons' threads. Tina
