Hi all, Here's a quick render of the hair model I am currently working on. I am trying to go for the "pulled back" look that I can then use for pony tails and similar hair styles... I haven't done the texture maps yet so the textures shown here are just thrown together to get an idea of the final look... The hair will fully conform to Victoria, Steph, Posette, etc... Victoria is wearing the Yoda texture by StefyZZ... Comments and/or suggestions are very welcome. cheers, d

Thanks Sharen - I'll prpbably be done by the end of the week... BTW: I forgot to mention - this is a pure poser render... only the background was added in PS.

One suggestion I have is to make a texture for this hair that is the same as the one you used in the image. The darker roots and lighter ends is very realistic .. even with hair that is natural. Also, it seems a little gappy directly above her eyebrow. Is that the texture (light all the way to the roots) or is it the mesh? I love this btw. It's amazingly realistic. Can't wait until you release it :)

Hmmm... not sure that I understand you Xena... are you saying that the "fringe" hair line is too high? As far as the coloring goes - I basically want to keep the coloring as is, but there are certain highlights (like just behind the ears) that I need to tone down a stitch. I will also have a couple of different textures packaged with it... Thanks for the comments! d

Please excuse my screen grabbing your hair. See where my arrow is pointing. It looks like there are gaps in the hair.

Dark_Whisper posted Tue, 02 April 2002 at 8:41 AM

Oh! OK... no those lines are actually on the texture map... That's one of the texture "issues" I still need to deal with ;-) Here's a render without the texture map... I made the hair orange so that you can see that there is no Vicky" poking through ;-) cheers, d

This looks awesome. With the right mapping, it will look gelled or "wet". I love it.

I love the wetlook, just like coming out of the water, only some little drops missing. And the texture on your first render is really great

Awesome! As usual. :)

Hmm, you might actually be able to get a believable "Wet" hair look with this one... just a thought. It looks like it's been combed back while wetted down so if you clumped the hair right it'd look wet or gooed over with gel or something.

MadYuri posted Tue, 02 April 2002 at 12:33 PM

Yep, I need wet hair. :D
