I recently purchased the entire "Roughnecks Starship troopers" 3d animated TV series on a set of DVDs, the show was completely animated in Lightwave. after listening to the technical Commentary of the animators on the DVD got really inspired to do some animation. I found this incredible warrior bug in freestuff. and would like to animate him walking, running killing, etc( in poser of course!!) its fully posable but has no IK setup for his limbs How would you approach this??

Thanks

open the hiarchy editor (under the window button) select the figure and click "create IK chain" name in like leg 1 or what ever you like start at the thigh for that leg, and drag it to the leg 1 box, then the shin, then foot, how ever many segments, make sure you do them in order. then repeat the process for each leg (under different names of course) if everything works correctly, resave the new figure to your library. hope that helps

If you want some inspiration, check out this MPEG video at nVidia (bug spray not included).

It's a technology demo for the new Geforce 4 cards, demonstrating what is possible in realtime 3D on today's home PCs. The wolfman demo is cool, also (volumetric fur).

A couple more generations of hardware evolution, and we'll probably be able to render some of our Poser animations in realtime. Assuming that Poser ever supports hardware acceleration.
