Greetz. After waiting almost 4 months, I finally got my own Victoria2, but now there are a few hiccups. Whenever I create her as a new figure Poser tells me, "The file has a newer version than expected" but it reads it anyway, and she's there. Then I can adjust anything except for her head. Anytime I select the head, I get "Caught C exception:exception access_violation trapped at 1b:4d3031" and 99% of the time, poser crashes right there. Is there a patch/sumthing to fix this ? Or does she only work with the pro pack installed ? Any help appreciated. Ta ! :)

PS. I don't know if this has anything to do with Poser4 or Windows2000 SP2, which is my current OS. Knowing Microsoft, it wouldn't surprise me.. hehe. :)

The poser 4.03 patch fixes the "caught C exception" and the "newer version than expected" message. All that means is that the file was created in a patched version of Poser 4.

Be aware that any props, characters, etc. that have been created by someone using ProPack will also give you "newer than expected" messages (unless you get PP yourself) even with the 4.03 upgrade but will not produce any other problems or annoyances. I'm running Win 2000 with the sp2 as well Luthor. The things you can do to eleviate this are, get the 4.03 upgrade for Poser (works like a charm and fixes quite a bit) and 2, you can edit the file where it says Version, you can always take the .2 or .02 off of it and it works. Or it has for me anyhow. Actually, I've found since I upgraded to Win 2000 Pro, Poser (and a lot of other graphic apps) seem to work more fluidly for me. I picked up Mike 2 and Stephanie and both work just fine for me on my system with the 4.03 patch. Before messing with files, I'd download the patch from Curious Labs first and see if that fixes the problem. If you need any more information, feel free to get a hold of me. :)

Has there been more than one patch since CL took over? I'm at work so I can't check what version it is, but I got a patch from CL when they first started doing Poser, and ran it. I still get the "newer version" message, although everything works fine. Never had a problem with V1 or V2. Just wanted to make sure I'm as up to date as I can be. I'm on a Mac.

Yeeha !! the patch fixed my prob. She works fine now, but still looks rather bland, coz i can't yet figger out how to do all the texturing of the eyes, and those big ugly 'plastic' eyebrows. (what are they for anyway ) Hiram, as far as I can see, CL only has the 4.0.3 patch out, and it is available for the mac too. This should take you straight there: http://www.curiouslabs.com/products/poser4/html/poser4EnglishUpdater.html Fanx again for the help guys !! :) Off to search for Vicky2 texture tutorials... ;)
