I have recently purchased a used copy of Poser 4 and Poser 4 Pro Pack and have a few question. First I installed Poser 4, Then when I Intalled the 4.o3 update it created a new folder inside the orignial Poer 4 folder called Updated Save and includes a new poser 4 exe file and some new characters and textures and so on, but all the original poser 4 default characters are in the orignal installtion. Do I need to move all the orignal poser 4 stuff to the updated save folder? Also how dose this effect Poser Pro Pack? if anyone can give me some help on how i should install these 3 programs so the work probably that would be greatly appreciated. thanks chris

You do not need to move anything... simply use your Poser shortcut as usual and all characters will be usable. Simply install Pro Pack as usual. I don't think you needed to install the 4.03 updater, as PP patches everything up to the latest version anyway. If you want a definitive, official answer, contact Curious Labs, as that's what they're there for :) Tilandra

I have an installation problem that is similiar. I had Win98 and installed Poser and the Pro Pack without any problem and have used it for a while. I just recently upgraded my OS to Win2000 and now I install Poser without problems, but the Pro Pack won't work. I get a message about a missing dll file. Anyone know what I am talking about and know how to fix it?

Pro Pack won't work for installation, or won't work running the program? Please be more specific, and get the name of the DLL file it says is missing. It won't hurt to update DirectX and your video drivers to Win2K versions, either. Tilandra

Well, that's beyond me. There is a fix for some missing DLLs in the FAQ, but they are different ones, so that won't be much help. I suggest you contact tech support. I know both programs normally run fine in Win2K, because that's what I had prior to XP which I run now. Chris81173, please note there is a section in the FAQ link that talks about your backup folder, also. TilandraBuffer posted Thu, 04 April 2002 at 6:33 PM
You might try grabbing the Microsoft VB Runtime files. If I am not mistaken the msvcp60.dll is contained inside there.

Actually, I figured out what the problem was. I went to Microsoft's website and used their support database, and it actually had what I was searching for. I searched for msvcp60.dll and it pointed to an article that described the files contained within the support/tools directory on the Win2K CD. All I had to do was install the support tools and low and behold, that funny file was part of the Windows Apps Compatibility Tool. I was able to associate Poser with WinNT 4.0 Sp3 and the program ran perfectly! Guess I need to read up more on Win2K since I am new to it, eventhough I administered networks through WinNT before. Thanks for all your support guys, I really appreciate it!
