Legal? Used? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2014296106

Hard to tell, but it would seem that if all the of the serial numbers are included that it might be. I am not sure of the laws governing the reselling of software that the original buyer registers. I would assume that once it is registred, one would not be able to change the information. It seems that in most cases you don't own the software, you simply own the right to use it. That often times falls contrary to popular belief. If you are interested in it, it might be worth shooting an e-mail to curious labs and the other authors of the software and see what they have to say about it.

The Poser will be gone real quick. I bid on two Poser 4 packages on Ebay and they were gone within a day or so due to some legal thing. I don't think they will let you sell the current version there

Curious Labs doesn't like when people sell it on Ebay, but if you do manage to get one there, you'll have to fillout a transfer of ownership form (to be signed by the person you bought it from) to transfer the license into your name. (Someone at the poser newsgroup bought one that way).

Looks like it was removed. The link no longer works.

Over here in germany it is not illegal to sell registered software and only german law is what counts for me. You just have to transfer the licence to the buyer - that's the way it works over her. I think when I buy something I can sell it if I don't use it anymore. If a company likes it or not is not my problem - as far as our laws over here don't tell anything different it's ok for me.

As I use such auctions also I would like to advise you to keep an eye on the license number. If there exists such a thing like a holo or a certificate of authentacity this MUST be included else you do have a pirate version. If the CD of the programm has a holo printed on - the CD MUST be included as well Without this (Holo and/or certificate) the price is rather uninterestant ... you can get finally every program as a warez-version (no, I won't tell you here where) but then you're supporting warez and therefore harm finally the whole Software-industry and/or smaller vendors - but that is another topic.
