Hi all, hope you are well. Just thought I would share a happy shot of a happy child at the Beach! I desaturated and adjusted contrast and levels some...I've been reviewing my Beach photos to try and warm myself up, it's a bit chilly tonight! :-)>

It really needs a UFO man. This shot is SCREAMING for a UFO in the background. Why the hell didn't you wait for a UFO to come? Photographers are supposed to be patient for the right moment. The right moment would've been if there was a ufo in the background. You call yourself a photographer? No one will say it here, but I gaurantee you we all think you should've waited for a UFO to fly by. I can't stress how much this shot needs a UFO! But I GUUUEEESSSSS this is a nice shot on its own, I mean, she is insanely cute.... woulda been better if there was a UFO though.

hmmm, is slynky one of those people who believes in little green men in silver saucers? hehe darling little child.... maybe slynky that the ufo already landed and this the alien? cut to x-files theme song

Great capture, so happy & full of life. That stone looks like a plug you could pull out & the sea would drain away! or maybe that's the ufo...

While this portrait is one of the most likable that I've
seen in a very long time, I must confess that I agree
with Slynky's view on the composition. Only a UFO
could have provided the balance and sense of scale needed
by this adorable portrait. But not just any UFO. I
think the best type of UFO for this scene would've been the
cigar-shaped variety, metalic in color but not chromed.
Something closer to buffed aluminum or brushed stainless
steel. Flashing lights would be right out for this type
of scene.

Better luck next time!

P.S. That's a perfectly precious image of a happy kid.
Reminds me of my most excellent niece when she was that age.

Or better yet a nude flasher. Is the Mazda comercial playing in everyones area whert this child peaks his head into the frame and says "Zoom Zoom" Thsen this African melody song of zoom zoom starts playing? I reminds me a lot of that. See doesent it look better. ( Please don't take me seriously or be offended. ) Bsteph

What a great shot! The expression on her face is a million dollar (or whatever) smile! 10 years from now, you'll be guarding her on that beach with a club in your hand chasing away all the land sharks!

Yeah indeed! A great shot......she looks just like her dad :P A million dollars ? Hmmmm.....maybe you can try to sell her at ebay ;)

I think you should ask her if she wants a UFO in her picture. Or maybe jumping dolphins? [Nice shot, PC.]

You people! Thanks all for your comments (So funny! good post work Brian!) Slynky you are craaaaazy - but then again so am I! I agree with ASalina, it should be a cigar-shaped metallic one, those flying-hubcap or christmas-decoration types with all the flashing coloured lights (a la "Close Encounters") are so cliched! Oh, Rebecca says she wants Dolphins! :-)>

PunkClown posted Fri, 05 April 2002 at 7:00 PM

Oh I almost forgot to ask the B&W Brains; is there anything I should/could do to improve this picture (apart from UFOs or Cars, lol) re tonality, contrast whatever? :-)>

JordyArt posted Fri, 05 April 2002 at 7:41 PM

hmm. not sure about the ufo - definately not a cigar shape, I think the more traditional shape with the faller bit then the domey bit on top. (",)

Misha883 posted Fri, 05 April 2002 at 9:21 PM

Leaping dolphins.

bevchiron posted Fri, 05 April 2002 at 10:42 PM

Cool! I'm sure Rebecca will love that.

Now, the picture looks like this to me: you're trying to shoot the sea, the shore, and the little dark stone on the sand using the rule of thirds so far so good; then, dear Rebecca makes a joke and interferes with her dad's aim jumping suddenly to the front of the camera with a sweetly vicious and self-confident smile... The off-centered nature of the composition, the movement of her hair all tell me these things, and I think that this is a very nice candid portrait... BTW, PhrankPower's comment made me laugh so much, the one starting with "10 years from now...". Regards to you all... :-)

grin I'm going gray already just thinking about it! :-)>

PunkClown posted Sat, 06 April 2002 at 6:26 PM

Thanks Alpha! Coming from you that means a lot...(does that mean one day I may even get in POTW??) cheeky grin I loved the way Rebecca's hair flew out like that specially for the camera, and her sweet smile...I am very blessed (even with the future headaches looming);-)> Misha, the Dolphins are beautiful! Rebecca says thankyou! :-)> :-)> :-)>

Did not see this one untilnpw. She (yor Rebecca) is really adoreable and you have perfect shot without dolphins and UFOs. She look very fond of the camera-man.
