Hey people, Can anyone help me out here? I thought I understood transparency. But a few problems. Take a look at this pic. Notice the ghosting. This was Yamotos hair6.obj and files. I just adjusted the trans files to shorten the hair for a mans somewhat hair style (yes I know the light at the top of the head has to go, that is an easy fix) Does anyone know why the ghosting is happening? Materials Info: Trans Min =0 Trans Max = 100 Trans Falloff = 0 Highlight size = 0 Object color - white, highlight color = black, ambient color = black, reflection turned off, no bump. Thanks in advance. James

Check the transmap tex itself. Is the black area realy 100% black? My first thought is that you have a very deep shade of grey there. jje

Try to set the mesh color to white and all others to black. I think that works. Chris

Thanks for the replies! I had tried all those options prior. Well it works now, so I think I figured it out. One of the trans maps was in RGB (color) I changed this to to greyscale, and all seems to be fine. Yea! Thanks again. James

I wonder if someone could put all of the steps/settings for getting this thing to work properly in this thread. I most of the way there, but not 100%. I've spent an hour trying to get it right and something's still wrong. Thanks, Arthur
