Hi, Ive seen a lot of human body models most of them created with poser. But if I want to do my own models maybe with another program where do I get the generell measures ? What is the relation of the size of the head to the size of the whole body and so on ? Is there a database in the internet ? Do I have to engage a real model for that ? And how do you get the measures then if you dont own a large 3d scanner ? By photogrammetry ? And what about bones then ? Do I have to x-ray the model to get the measures of the bones ? Thanks for help

Interesting subject. I'm also intrigued by the possibility. Just think if it is possible to get to a standard to have a numerical description of a face and then convert all this to Poser. I could ask to anyone to "measure" their faces (maybe filling in a form) and I could send them the 3d render showing themselves..

A good book on anatomy for artists would help. I know somewhere in cyberspace there's a list of general proportions floating around (I've recieved it via e-mail forward, and sadly deleted it). Good luck!

If you every had a figure drawing class the instructor would have told you the basic "heads high" principlal, where (slightly ideallized) bodys are measured off in heights of the figures head, the second head height should be to a line connecting the nipples, the 3rd to the navel (navel navel...), the 4th to the bottom to the crotch, the 6th just under the knee joint, the 8th is the bottom of the feet. This is for the "8 head" high figure, which is pretty leggy, most nowadays use 7 1/2 head high, the difference taken out in the legs. Now, after saying the above, this is an idealized figure, many in real life don't measure up, nor do many Poser figures, but some do!

I don't know if it's the one you misplaced, FyreSpiryt, but I find this useful (for human figures, anyway).
