Just wondering before it go through the significant effort what will happen if i take a poser model to import into bryce but cut it partially in half. Then use a stylized metalic skeleton for the 2nd half. When the textures are applied in bryce, will the poser model be screwed up or will they look normal right up until the edge where the human skin disappears? Before i start this, id like to see know if it could work.

If you keep your assigned materials separate, and the "halves" grouped separate, you shouldn't have a problem. For export and import details to keep your poser materials, check out the tutorial section. Tilandra

I'd also recommend exporting only the half you want from poser and not do a boolean cut in Bryce. As you can see from the link, Poser exports have some trouble with boolean operations...pmoores posted Sun, 14 April 2002 at 6:48 PM
that will be a issue then. my plans are to cut down the middle of the body slightly left missing the nose. Only the upper chest and face will be visable regardless.

You could actually do it very easily with a transparency map. Make half the figure invisible that way.
