I converted a pic of a friends granddaughter to b-w and played a bit with it. The original was in color, but here is the b-w version

Here I applied Nik's Midnight filter

...and here his Monday morning filter. Everyone has it's own charm, what do you think?

What beautiful portraits of your friend's grandaughter! I think I like the "midnight filtered" one the best. This only goes to prove to me that you are just as talented in the world of B&W as you are in the world of colour! :-)>

I'm with Punkclown, I like the midnight filtered version best; it has just the right kind of softness.

Lovely shots Gun, the midnight filter really seems to draw attention to her eyes & makes a beautiful soft portrait, the second filter made me look at her hand & mouth & it becomes a much more active portrait (if that makes sense!!).

I think I also will post a montage I did with that photo. I cannot see it right now, but I know i am happy with it. It is fascinating to compare color and black and whit. I have always preferred color. Maybe this is an opportunity for me to "discover" b-w.
