This seems to be the better version as the very bright part that distracts the eye quite a bit (yet, liked by me stubbornely... :)) is cropped off... The 'cheekbone brightness' still resides, but I think I do not fell unconfortable with it... The link refers to the version I've posted to the Photo Gallery, incorporating this version and some crops along with it...doruksal posted Mon, 15 April 2002 at 7:17 PM

What was the feel you were trying for. Assuming the grey scale is what you wanted I agree the second photo or perhaps the third is a better attempt. However I think the second one may be the best. I am not bothered by the light on the cheek. Althought more detail on the facial features might me better. Adittionally perhaps and I do mean PERHAPS this might be better is the background increased from dark to light. Just a couple of ideas. The last picture. On the inverse side if you color the cheeks of the creature more fleshtone it would be more interesting I think. Bsteph

I prefer the first one. The lower right is bright, but it doesn't bother me much, and the spot on the cheek does not bother me at all. I agree that the frame is bit top on the top, and that it would be nice if she/he was looking into the frame a bit more...but this has a wonderful graphic feeling, and as it is, the negative space is pretty interesting. I prefer it over the second one because I find the crop right through the ear disturbing. The third is a nice image, but I keep waiting for him/her to speak--what will she/he say?

I mean the frame is a bit TIGHT on the top...'doh!

doruk, i dig the third. perfect crop imo. one funny thing comes into my mind esp. because of renderosity: if u haven't seen the other two images the first best what comes in mind is - poser with ps noise/grain - but somehowe u would instantly know thats not true... its so artificial natural and in a way living... great series again.

first one, I agree about the tightness of the cropping, & the square format, I often find that happens when I crop to get an effect I want the result is square which never quite seems to work. I really like the light in the bottom right & on the cheekbone, for me it adds a lot of emphasis & feeling to the shadowy face. I find the whiteness behind her face more distracting, with the lovely grain in the image it just seems to jar with the face somehow. I really like the cropping in 2 & 3, the "humanoid" seems to be coming alive!! about to speak, turn towards me or something...... Great graphic work.

I like the second one best, I think. It's hard to pick. But I think it needs a wee bit more space to the left. I love the grain on these pics. I think they're all great. (*

I like the first one, and like Star, really like the grain on these. The last picture really does give you the impression that those lips are going to part and say something! Good stuff as usual Doruk! :-)>
