This is a freebie that will be released some time this week (I hope) so what is it and in it? It's a Nostromo like starship. It is constucted like the other construction kits that i have made that are for sale and the many more available for free. The first section is the bridge, or command area, or obsevation deck. More will follow, The sci fi kit released this past weekend is like the corridors and large wall sections, like for cargo bays and what not. So far there are 17 parts of this section of the ship. All, like in hollywood, you use what you need and no more. The image with this post is what there is now. to render what you see took 7 minutes on a 1Ghz 768MB ram win2K system. the list so far; afa pylon- throttle control(image) afa pylon1- instrument panel afa pylon2- different version of throttle control(image) afa pylon bulk head- triangular wallsection (image) afa pylon deck- Big dashboard looking thing afa pylon deck FL- a grid floor section (image) afa pylon Xurge-Flight chair with integrated/modifide "Xurge" 2001 space helmet (thanks Xurge!)(image) afa Pylon crew- Flight chair without helmet afa pylon crew noarm-same as above but the armrest set invisable afa pylon pilotA- seat with integrated Jstick(image) afa pylon pilotB- no helmet, and twin jstick mounted on the armrests(thanks daio!) afa pylon S1- Jstick assembly afa pylon tube342- a transperant tube with supports that will fit the sci-fi kits doble length catwalk(image) afa pylon tube70- a single section of the tube afa sci win section- scaled, curved windows (image) awin200- the center row of windows from sci win section awin200x15- botton row of windows set at 15 degrees x rot. That's what there is right now, unless I get inspired do make more for this section this is what will be the kit, including all textures, and whatnot. lalverson

Looking good! This will have at least one advantage over the real-life Nostromo set. In Poser, we can remove walls and ceilings to position the camera more easily. Ridley Scott insisted on a completely enclosed set when he filmed the movie, to add to the claustrophobic mood (the cameramen and lighting technicians weren't pleased). I spend too much time listening to audio commentaries on my DVDs. Does it show?

Cool work, Lee. There's a lot of aliens out there who'll be glad of a place to terrorise some people. Do aliens have an award for public spiritedness?
