yep! xp does some things differently though. actually it's nt5.XX so you gotta watch it sometimes. dos is harder to manipulate but it's still there (as part of the xp system.) most of my old programs run ok except those that manipulate the registry in some way. do you think my poser problem (listed in carrara/raydream forum ) might be related to xp?

I have seen absolutely ZERO poser problems under XP.

Have XP and Poser and runs fine :-) BTW, strongly recommended to run this little _free_ proggie if you don't like XP spy on you. It's available in english too.

Have a look at my entries under "number of vertices/epicanthic fold".

got xp a month ago and no problems with poser so far, it doesn't like some of my older programs but poser works like a dream

Yep, XP works well with Poser. Sometimes when I'm doing a picture that takes a lot of memory, XP will flash a message that more virtual memory is needed and that it is increasing the amount of virtual memory available to complete the render successfully.

I only got that once when I was using the Mansion Great Room. I had loaded every prop in the room, then Mike and Vicky. I'd never seen my computer complain about insufficent virtual memory so much. And I have 512MB of RAM!

I haven't had the virtual memory message yet, but I've got a Gig of Ram to fill up before it happens
