Just thought I'd mention, for those of you who get PBS, that they've been running a series called "Shape of Life". It includes some impressive camera work as well as a lot of 3D animation. I also think the strange lifeforms they're focusing on are good inspiration for aliens and monsters. Sort of off-topic, but I think some of you would find good ideas for your artwork in this series.

Thanks, Terri - I've been meaning to catch that, but I'm never home. I'll have to program the old VCR to maek sure I get to see it. - Dex

I think you would find it very interesting. One thing that becomes really obvious is how very different some animals are from us, which is why I think they'd make good models for aliens. I always thought it would be interesting to design some intelligent life forms living in the atmosphere of a gas giant, and model them after octopuses or something. I can picture huge floating cities built on the equivalent of coral reefs... Sadly, my modeling skills aren't quite up to my imagination (yet).

Give yourself some time and play. Your Cring character (and I hope I'm remembering his name and spelling right) is great. Keep playing! Anyone else remember Carl Sagan's Cosmos TV Series? I remember his whole bit about floaters, hunters and sinkers living in the atmosphere of Jupiter or a planet like it. Great stuff.
