Hi Vue users, I've redone my Blue Moon Pic...because of some constructive critics in the past. The halo around the moon was done with the sky map feature of Vue d'Esprit. Comments are welcome... HenrikRoms posted Fri, 28 January 2000 at 7:28 AM
hmmm... tell you what Henrik : but for the moon i prefered the old one coz we could only see the outline of the trees, problem is that now we can see it's just a line of trees and not a real forrest. just my opinion ;o) Rom's

Hmmm...you're right :o) Hehe...back to work...thanks Henrik

Ok...I've made some final changes... It was really hard for me to achieve the lighting I was thinking of but perhaps I just need some more experience with it. Henrik

Yeah now this looks like a real forrest ! btw did you finally used a solid moon ? No more stars showing through but a cloud seems to be behind it ! Perfection's hard to reach ;o) Rom's

I've seen this cloud just after uploading but I'm finished with this pic for now...it was a real pain somewhere :o). If anybody out there has got some tips for the stars/clouds/moon problem please tell me. Henrik

The detail on the moon is much better in this (2nd) pic, but have you tried finding an actual bitmap of the moon & using it as a texmap? The bumps on the surface aren't recognizable as features of the moon.

Hmm...perhaps I will work on the lighting of the moon again because that must be the reason...or a wrong mapping? The texture is an original texture and bumpmap...strange... Henrik

When you say "original texture" do you mean an actual image of the moon? Perhaps it is the lighting that's making it look unusual. Have you tried using just the texture map w/o the bump. (or for that matter just the bump map on a white or gray surface) It has a "rough" appearance that gives it the illusion of being closer than it is. (The cloud thing enhances that)

Hi Henrik, I love the sky and the lightning. (Will you put the .atm in the free stuff ?) The all pic is very beautiful, i prefer tis version than the very first one. You break the initial symetry that hurt me in using a non-full moon. Great job. Pascal
