I've begun to reap the benifits of my new found grapic artist career. In other words I'm getting my first paycheck. :) What I'd like to ask is what modeller would you recomend to interface with Bryce. I love the way Bryce works, I'm very keen to keep using it as my render engine, but there are some shapes and objects that I would like to be able to create that I cannot do in Bryce. I'd also like to add that I'm hoping to find a modeller with a good learning curve. I've a fulltime job, fulltime family and part-time artists career, so I can't invest too much time just getting to know how to launch the program. :) Thanks in advance

Rhino. Go to this link and then click the "Hall Of Fame" to see what other members have been doing with it. Also, it's very easy to learn and use.You can't call it work if you love
it... Zen

I would suggest trying the demo of all that are available. To see what works for you. Most of the good modelers take awhile to get fluent in. Here's a link to another excellent modeler, also has a full blown Rendering and Animation package to. http://www.electricimage.com/products/universe/overview/univoverview.htm

For a high end modeler FormZ is one of the best. Rhino is good too. I have an old version of Infini-D4.5 (which was combined with Ray Dream to create Carrera). It works pretty good for most of the stuff I do. You might be able to find a cheap copy of that on Ebay. I don't know what your budget is.

I liked Rhino right from the start.

Am just learning to model and use Bryce but have been very satisfied with Rhino. Besides a very productive interface, seems to export about any file format. Check out the Rhino forum and gallery. There is a Robot/Mech contest now.

Here's one for ya too....Corel Dream 3D...it's on the Corel Draw 8 CD....you can get that all day long on Ebay for less than $20.00 plus you get corel draw and Photo paint too...anyway Corel Dream 3D was Ray Dream 3.xx when Corel bought out Fractal....saves files as VRMl format (.wrl)goes right strait into BRYCE 5....fairly easy to learn and has nice Corel "Help" too......with Photo Paint you can make Symetrical Latices for Bryce...and you're pretty much good to go for a couple of months of experimenting / creating l8r, Timinator

I still like using the free modeler that Metasequoia puts out. Great metaball tools. You can do a lot for the price. Get the freeware one, it has most of the same features and it exports in formats that Bryce likes. The shareware is kewl too, but doesn't export, only saves in native format (which the freeware reads). I've got a tut up with the links. http://www.annsartgallery.com/donut.htmlcainbrogan posted Wed, 24 April 2002 at 6:56 PM
Carrera was created by the previous owners of Bryce(Metacreations) as thier ideal modeler for Bryce. It's User Interface is like that of Bryce. My guess is the Learning curve is as ideal as Bryce. I've been hoping to buy it for a while now. Eovia.com is its new owner. = )
