My complaint is with people who host their free stuff on AngelFire.com. Please don't host your Poser files with them- there are so many other (free) hosts out there that give people far less trouble. (And if you can't find one, please post a message in the forum and we will happily guide you to a "good" hosting service). First, too many times, the thumbnail of the item displays as a distorted "This image hosted on AngelFire". This does me no good- why should I download the file if I can't see what it is? Second, when I do click to download a file, such as "Wendy" by Gringo3d (sorry, I don't mean to "pick" on him), I get 2, yes 2 annoying pop-up windows- one in front of my browser (so I can't see what the website) and 1 behind the browser (so I won't know it's there!)!! And when I try to block these pop-ups, using software such as AdSubtract, I get a "To better serve our customers, AngelFire does not allow the linking to files on our server."... in other words, deal with the pop-ups and annoyances or you aren't getting the file! So, I propose that we, as a community, stop using AngelFire to host our files. What does anyone else think? P.S. Click the included link to download the trial version of AdSubtract- an excellent program to stop the pop-ups, Java, etc. that annoy people. (Just be sure to turn it off when visiting sites, such as Renderosity, that require cookies.) --John

John, You forgot to mention that half the time, you can't even access the thing. Bandwidth! Seems like the "backroom" might be a good place to list freebie-friendly sites.

I for one would love to know of some freebie friendly sites as it is one of the reasons I don't have my things here in freestuff, except for the ones that are hosted by someone with their own domain. I just announce them here and link to the page since I am at Angelfire. I stay there mainly because I have been there for years and get 50 megs for free and cannot justify spending money for a domain for something that is just a hobby.

Oh yes! Angelfire is s**t. I never download files if I can't see what they are, and Angelfire never seems to work right anyway.
