Rock drummers can't keep still! Had the focus on his sticks which were on the toms and high hat at the time. Argh... f1.4, 2 sec (bulb setting), handheld. No postwork other than color adjustment to match the print. I think I should burn the bright parts of his left arm/hand. Oh heck... comments and suggestions welcome. (*

That is a great action shot of the drummer...not sure about the burning in his left arm/hand, they are bright, but, I dunno I'm too tired to think. Good pic though, full of energy!

It's a great shot. At two seconds, I'm astonished how much detail you captured. You might try burning that arm and hand, but if you do, the drum head to the right of them will be the brightest thing in the pic by even more than it is now. That'll be the first place a viewers eye goes.

What's your technique for such a rock steady handheld shot? Very good job!

I was lucky with this shot, actually. I had a lot of rejects where the images were too blurry with movement, the arms were covering his face, and of course, the presence of the inevitable camera shake. @ ASalina -- I usually don't want to be bothered by a tripod during gigs (body surfing moshers and all), so I have to make do with keeping my arms as close to my body as possible to minimize the shake. I guess the weight of my jurassic SLR helps steady the grip, too. Thanks for the comments people. Suggestions for improvement are still welcome.

Class shot! wow - so very little movement, brilliant!! Try the same thing at a Motorhead concert you'd just have a blur for the whole drummer!! lol I'm jealous. (",)
